Bonjour,
Merci beaucoup,
Derry

Hi Derry
You can use the Edelrid Canyon 9mm on single strand (not recommended by Edelrid).
But the sheath wears off quiet fast on the rough and sharp granite.
I made the best experience with the two following cords:
Bluewater 9.2 MM CANYON DS
Sterling Rope C-IV
Both have Technora (Kevlar) in the rope sheet and are very abrasive resistant.
Despite they are very tough, the rope handling is really smooth and they have nearly no shrinkage.
The only disadvantage is, that they are hard to get in Europe and that the price is a bit higher than for normal canyoneering cords.
But they will last much longer. I have used the above cords for already 20 - 30 canyons and there is nearly no sign of wear.
Do not buy the Beal. You will cut the sheath quiet easily and the price for that corde is much too high for it's performance.
Have fun in the Ticino
