Thank for the description. You confim that Gries is a right canyon of winter. We don't know if the road was free of snow.

We could drive to the parking at the end of the Griesbach canyon.
It had a bit snow on the street, but it was easy to drive.
It's not possible to drive up to the Griesalp.
As you know it is very steep and it was really ici, it was just possible for 4WD and with chains on the tires.
But it takes just about 30-40min to walk up from the parking to the start of the canyon.

$\:D/$ Finally Gries $\:D/$

After two years of waiting I did Gries today with Andi Senn. The conditions are perfect at the moment and will still be good for the weekend. very clean water, good grip and no ice $\:D/$
Also a sporty but correct water flow. Overall a very nice canyon in +/- the same level as Trümmelbach, Gamchi, Eigerwandschlucht to complete the big four from the Berneroberland.
The watermarks from the flood five weeks ago were incredible high. The witch at the Hexenkessel does not exist anymore

We had to add two new anchors as the previous one had been destroyed during the flood. At the Hexenkessel we used a jammed trunk to abseil.
