Quelqu'un pourrait m'éclairer sur les cotations technique des canyons suisse du genre :

5abc VI

3abc XX CRM

4ab 3c IV XX CE

3b 4ac III XXX CA

déjà que l'allemand reste un mystère, mais en plus les messages codés j'y pige plus rien

Some are a bit confusing....
But in general:

Level 1: F (facile)
Level 2: PD (peu difficile)
Level 3: AD (assez difficile)
Level 4: D (difficile)
Level 5: TD (très difficile)
Level 6: ED (extrêmement difficile)

Letters
a: aquatic techniques
b: rope technique, abseiling
c: climbing technique

Engagement:
I: exit everywhere possible
II: every 30min is an exit possible
III: over 1h without exits
IV: over 2h without exits

So the first number (5abc VI) indicates that the level for water, rope and climbing technique is difficult (5) and there are sections without escape possibilities during 2h.

I don't know all the other indications as XX CRM, XX CE, XXX CA

5a 3bc it's difficult aquatic and easy for ropes and climbing.

CRMEA gives some indication of the main activities:

C=Rappels in the activ
R=Rappels away from the activ
M=Walking
E=Climbing down
A=Moving in the Water
S= jumping
T=Tobagganing

I think the xxx indicates the level of equipment when he was last there (xxx=very equiped - double points, etc; x=basic only) - but I'm not sure...

I Had that thought too, then comparing between known canyons it did'nt make much sense : Cholbach (Choltalbach) better equipped than Rosenlaui or Trummelbach? Gries better than Trummel and Rosenlaui ? and as well equiped as Malvaglia?

I thought also about the amount of wood in the canyon, but there is no wood in Lodrino ...

Anyway it's probably of no use (like CRMEA I would say )

Les petites croix sont liées à l'équipement: xxx=équipement nickel

Oh fiumi, là, tu me déçois !
Toi qui en mai 2007 voulais transmettre des photocopies du livre Can...ing...en...uisse, tu n'as pas dû tout le lire !

Bah en même temps on s'attend pas à trouver des légendes d'un bouquin dans un autre ...
Et de visu, sur certains canyons on se rend compte que ces informations ne sont pas à jour alors que le bouquin vient de sortir (voir plus haut : par exemple l'équipement de Cholbach est largement plus dégradé que celui de Rosenlaui ou Trummelbach, pareil pour celui de Gries)
ceci dit on n'est d'accord que les infos sur l'équipement ne valent que ponctuellement et ne dispensent pas de trousse à spit
